The design, content and structure of the University website must always be based around the needs of users

Users are people who visit our website, whether they are enquirers, applicants, existing students, staff, alumni, the general public or whoever. Users are trying to source information quickly and unambiguously.

All new websites under the domain will be built in the University’s Content Management System Sitecore (unless an alternative solution is agreed by External Relations) and must follow the University’s visual identity and tone of voice web guidelines.

Any significant changes to the University website, in whole or part, will take account of best practice and will be evidence based, taking into account what the target audience want and how they want to access it.

External Relations is the brand owner of all University of Leicester digital content, with the responsibility to ensure that all web content meets these guidelines and has authority to make changes to any content which does not.

External Relations must also approve any social media representing any part of the University, especially in terms of use of the University’s name, reputation and branding.
