Who do I contact to create a new website?

The first thing you should do is complete the Website Brief then a member of the Web Team will contact you.

Who is my office/department website coordinator?

Check the Website Coordinator List (login required).

Can I have editing privileges to a particular website?

The devolution of editing privileges is typically the purview of the website’s coordinator, not the Web Team or IT Services. Therefore if you require editing privileges you need to identify the relevant web coordinator from the Web Coordinator List and liaise with them directly.

When I login to the website is says I have 'insufficient privileges'. What does this mean and what can I do about it?

This means that you have logged into the website successfully (i.e. there’s nothing wrong with your IT account or login details) but you are not allowed to access the particular website or webpage. If you feel that you should have access then you need to contact the appropriate website coordinator (login required) and raise it with them directly. The Web Team (or IT Services) cannot give other people access to pages that we are not responsible for.

What help or training is available for web editors?

All members of staff who get editing privileges on Plone must go on the Web Authoring Training. There are also regular Guided IT Learning Sessions and of course the Web Centre website will answer most questions and is therefore a good first port of call.

Additional support can be provided by the appropriate Website Coordinator or by contacting ithelp@le.ac.uk although it will likely take several days to get a response from IT in most cases due to the volume of support requests.
