In order to Add a Page you need to have Manage or Add/Edit rights in the area of the site you wish to add the page to.

To add a page

  • Click on the Add new drop down menu at the top of the page and then choose the Page option.

Add page

Once you choose this option you will be taken to the edit page facility for this new page and you will be prompted for a page Title, Description and some Body Text.

The Title will show at the top of the browser window and in the side navigation.  The Description will show at the top of the page and is often shown by search engines.

Add new page

The Body Text field is where you should put the main bulk of your page's information - it has a simple set of editing features along the top which allow you to format the text on the page and add images, links and tables.

  • Fill these fields in and then add a Change note and click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Your page will now have been created.

If you get an error message or your changes are not visible press Ctrl+F5  to reload the page. See Reload the page for more information.

A sensible way to use pages and folders

It's not always obvious when to use a folder and when to use a page. As a rule of thumb ask yourself whether you think that the particular part of your site that you are working on will:

  • contain multiple pages or is likely to expand OR
  • will it just contain a single page.

If you intend to have multiple pages or may expand the area in the future then choose a folder and put pages in it.

If you know that this bit of your site is just a single page then just use a single page and don't bother with a folder.

As pages are added they will automatically appear in the side Navigation.
