Log in and out

When to log in

You do not need to be logged into the website all of the time. In fact you'll often experience much quicker page load times if you remain logged out when browsing the University website. You only need to login to Plone to either edit a webpage or to view a webpage/document which has restricted access.

How to log in

Click on the Web editor login link in the top right hand corner of the webpage.

Web editor login

When prompted enter your University IT account username and password. This is the same username and password that you would use to log in to your University computer. If the log in is successful you will be taken back to the page that you logged in from.  You will see a short message that reads: Welcome! You are now logged in.

Occasionally you will get a message telling you that you are logged into Plone but you do not have sufficient privileges to view the page. This means that the page you are trying to access is not publicly available and if you feel that you should have access to it you'll need to contact the website maintainer (not necessarily IT Services).

If you have privileges to edit a Plone page you will also see the editing tabs that appear at the top of the webpage, below the website's banner image.
