Performers wanted for Arts Festival

We know that there are loads of talented performers here at the University: singers, dancers, actors, DJs, musicians, models and more! We also know that we need to do more to support you, and share your talents with the rest of the university and beyond.

Based on student feedback and designed around student suggestions, we are planning a University of Leicester Festival, to take place between 28 and 31 May. With various traditional (and not-so-traditional) performance venues on campus, we want to create an arts festival filled with your performances.

We need you!

We have the experience, expertise and budget to organise the event, create some brilliant marketing and really promote your activities – but we need you to perform. We want the event to be designed by students, featuring students, for students. Register your interest by completing our online form.

How can you get involved?

1. If you already have an end of year performance planned, could it take place during that week? We can promote it as part of the festival.
2. If you haven’t already planned your end of year performance, could you do it that week? We’ll help you to find a venue and get you all of the equipment you need (within reason!)
3. Do you know any other student groups or student performers who might want to take part? Can you share this information with them?

The small print

There really isn’t any! This idea was brought to us by students who attended a dinner with our senior leadership team. They told us that art and performance groups on campus don’t feel that they get the recognition they deserve or the support that they need – and we genuinely want to help. We want to create an event that you are proud of, that you helped to design and that your friends and families will want to attend!
