Celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan

As Ramadan comes to an end, Muslims in the UK and around the world are celebrating Eid al Fitr. The holy month of Ramadan signified a month of reflection, contemplation and celebration, involving praying, fasting and donating money to charity.

During the month of Ramadan, The University of Leicester, The University of Leicester’s Islamic Society (ULISOC) and The University of Leicester’s Students’ Union were able to provide meals to students fasting, where the President of ULISOC, Hamzah Nurgat stated: ‘I would also like to thank all the staff and volunteers, who have helped make this project come to life. You truly are making a difference.'

The University of Leicester wishes Eid Mubarak to you all and hopes that this year’s Eid celebrations are filled with happiness.
