The University’s new ‘Welcome’ website has been launched to support and guide new students, as well as encouraging them to ‘Show their true colours’.

The new site includes a welcome from the Vice-Chancellor, practical advice and information, and a sense of the community they are joining to become Citizens of Change.

Vice-Chancellor Nishan Canagarajah tells new students: “We’re so proud you’ve chosen to join us at the University of Leicester. You’re part of an extraordinary year group like no other. Your path here has had its ups and downs. But you belong here. You deserve to be here. You’ve more than earned your place.”

Highlights to signpost new students to include:

1. Checklist - this includes everything which needs to be done pre-arrival, including specifics for international, Allied Health Professions, medical and returning students
2. Online registration - what new students need to do to register this year
3. Accommodation - how to book and how we're keeping students safe
4. Airport pick-ups - we're offering an airport pick-up service to new international students
5. Chat to a current student – new students can get to know some of our friendly faces on campus
6. Plan which events to come to – details of all welcome events in September and October
7. Returning students - we appreciate a lot has changed over the last few months, so there is information for students returning in the autumn.
