Find out more information events and changes to services in December and January, including during the vacation (Saturday 14 December-Sunday 5 January)


You can attend events at The City accommodation over the vacation even if you do not live there. Check @uolcityliving (Instagram), @citylivinghalls (Facebook) for details. For The Village events over the vacation, if you are going with someone who is staying at The Village, you are welcome to attend. Stay up-to-date at Oadby Student Village on Facebook.

Vacation opening times

University services will have different opening times between Saturday 14 December and Sunday 5 January.

Student Services Centre

The Student Services Centre is open 9.00am-2.00pm on Thursday 19 December and 9.00am-3.00pm from Friday 20 December. The Student Services Centre is after this until Wednesday 1 January 2020. Welfare, careers (including over the phone and Skype), visa, Unitemps, and counselling appointments will all run when the Student Services Centre is open. Visit for more information.

Sexual health, Headspace, Turning Point and independent sexual violence adviser clinics do not run during the vacation. For information on how to access clinics off campus, visit

David Wilson Library

Closed on Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 December and Wednesday 1 January. Varying open times during the rest of vacation. Please visit for more information.

Students' Union

Open 8.00am-5.00pm during weekdays and clsoed and weekends. The Students' Union reception is open on weekdays between 11.00am-3.00pm. The Students' Union will close for Christmas on Friday 20 December and reopen on Thursday 2 January. Visit for more information.
