How secure is your dinner? Is climate change inevitable? Can we power the world using clean energy?

Recently we found that employers are keen to find graduates with knowledge in sustainability as corporate responsibility becomes more relevant. This is why we’re running Sustainable Futures, a free short online course designed to help explore sustainable development. As part of Go Green Week activities, the course starts on Monday 10th February and runs up until Friday 1st May.

The course will cover topics such as limits to the Earth’s resources, energy and climate change, the security of food supply, and the collapse of past societies. Ultimately we want to know what this might teach us and what we can do to ensure a healthy, sustainable future.

The course will be delivered in a series of short online lectures on Blackboard. There will be an open forum where you can speak to other participants as well as a staff members about the course content.

Students who complete the introductory unit, any two other units, and synoptic written opinion piece can have the course accredited on their Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR).

This course is available to any University of Leicester student (campus-based and distance-learning).
