SDGs @ Leicester Week
In 2015 world leaders met to agree to the Sustainable Development Goals, a set of 17 principles for ensuring a better world by 2030. The University of Leicester was one of the first UK higher education organisations to sign up to the SDG Accord and UN Global Compact — our pledge to promote positive social and environmental change.
We contribute to all the SDGs but are focused on five main goals:
- Health and well-being
- Infrastructure, industrialisation and innovation
- Climate Change
- Inclusivity and justice
- Life on land
Throughout March we’re running a number of events and we'd love for you to get involved. These include:
Cup of Tea & an SDG - Enjoy cake and tea, alongside a talk about how we can future-proof the world.
Takes place Wednesday 20 March in SU Common Room (downstairs), 12.00-2.00pm.
Seed Planting: Help the SDGs Grow - Spend thyme sowing seeds and offer your ideas on how to make the SDGs bloom. The day also includes a Zero Waste Store from Plan-It Change.
Takes place Thursday 21 March on Centenary Square, 12.00-2.00pm.
