Reminder: World Sleep Day Talks (Friday)

Join us for two illuminating talks shedding light on what sleep does and why it’s necessary for healthy wellbeing.

World Sleep Day is happening on Friday 15 March, a day to consider the importance of sleep and sleep issues within society. To mark the occasion we’re running a number of events:

How to Improve Your Sleep

Why do we sleep, and what happens when we don’t get enough? What habits affect our quality of sleep?  What steps should we take to ensure a decent night’s rest? These will be the main questions considered by Dr Michael Okun, Dr Tamara Gheorges and Dr Volko Straub.

Event takes place 12.15pm at Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre 3.

Sleeplessness – Assessing Sleep Need in Society Today

Professor Jim Horne – Emeritus Professor of Psychophysiology at Loughborough University – will discuss whether current lifestyles lead to chronic sleep deprivation, and if so, what the implications are for our physical and mental wellbeing.

Event starts 5.00pm at Lecture Theatre 2, George Davies Centre.

Both events are free and may be attended by both staff and students.
