Professor Edmund Burke takes up his new role as Acting Vice-Chancellor
Professor Burke is a distinguished computer scientist, with a strong research record. Edmund's research has a prominent practical component and he has collaborated closely with a number of companies including BT, KLM/Air France, NATS and Ortec.
Professor Burke said: “I am delighted and honoured to take on the position of Acting Vice-Chancellor at such an exciting time in the University’s history. I look forward to continuing to work with our staff and students and engaging with our global alumni and partnership networks.”
Before joining Leicester, he had been the Vice-Principal for Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London since 2015. He joined Queen Mary from the University of Stirling where he held the posts of Senior Deputy Principal & Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Principal for Research.
