How will you make a change?
Our Centenary: Give something back at our ChangeMakers festival.

Student guides on open day, 1993

This year, the University celebrates its Centenary. Originating as a living memorial to those lost during World War I, 100 years have passed since our first students started at the University. From September, starting with a launch event hosted by Vice-Chancellor, Nishan Canagarajah on Wednesday 1 September, we are marking the occasion with a host of celebrations until October 2022. So, what better way to get involved than through volunteering to commemorate our first 100 of the University’s founding at our ChangeMakers festival.

If you are a student looking to enhance your CV, this opportunity is a brilliant way to network and learn new skills. On Saturday 2 October, from 10.00am – 4.00pm; or however long you can give, volunteer roles from Events Assistant to Management will be available to those interested in stamping their mark on the University’s history.

If you would like to get involved in our centenary, email km423@leicester.ac.uk for information to apply now. All years, and all subject types are welcome.

Alternatively, help us celebrate our heritage by volunteering your time to help our community and make your pledge for our Centenary year.

Change awaits.
