We are pleased to announce the opening of the Academic Skills Centre. The centre is located on the ground floor of the David Wilson Library.

The Academic Skills Centre is a collaborative venture that builds on the work and expertise of the Maths Help Centre, the Leicester Learning Institute and Leicester’s team of Academic Librarians. The purpose of the Academic Skills Centre is to support all University of Leicester students in their studies from a convenient central hub.

Specialist advisors will help students with queries related to:

  • Mathematics and statistics
  • Transitioning to university study
  • Writing assignments
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Working with assignment feedback
  • Study Skills
  • Preparing for exams
  • Finding and using sources
  • Referencing

How to get help

You can book a one-to-one (face-to-face or online) consultation with an advisor at the Academic Skills Centre or an Academic Librarian by visiting the Succeed in Your Studies website and following the link to ‘Make an Appointment’. Alternatively, you can attend one of the drop in sessions for Maths or Academic Writing, the dates and times of which will be advertised on the Succeed in Your Studies website.
