Monday 2 to Friday 6 December is our third Make A Difference Week, this time dedicated to supporting the homeless.

There are still one off opportunities which you can get involved with:

Monday 2 December: 'Give Leicester' Volunteer training session
Give Leicester is a new initiative to enable people who want to help rough sleepers in the city to give money to support a local night shelter using new donation points that have been set up across Leicester. Enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help with promoting the donation points. Sign up to attend the training session through MyCareers.

Tuesday 3 December: Supermarket bag packing
The Y youth homelessness charity needs super friendly and engaging volunteers to help shoppers at Asda in Oadby to pack their groceries in exchange for small donations. No previous experience is needed, you just need to be confident and smiley to meet and greet shoppers in a polite manner. There are two shifts that you can choose from, 10.00am-1.00pm or 1.00pm-4.00pm. Sign up through MyCareers.

Thursday 5 December: Shoebox challenge donations and wrappers
Give a gift to a homeless young person by filling a shoe box with your friends for the youth homelessness charity, The Y by filling a shoe box with essentials.

Or, if you enjoy wrapping presents, we need enthusiastic volunteers to wrap donated shoeboxes on Thursday 5 December from 1.00pm-2.30pm and from 2.30pm-4.00pm in the SU Square. If you are interested and available, please email volunteer@le.ac.uk with your preferred shift.
