Leicester Lockdown Eased

We are delighted that restrictions have been eased further following the Government’s Leicester lockdown review yesterday.

Please do check the Government as well as Leicester City and Leicestershire County Council advice regularly, for full details of the new measures in place. The opening of nail bars, outdoor pools and beauty salons from today is, although not directly impacting the University, welcome news and another step in the right direction for the University and Leicester as a community.

We are preparing for your safe return to campus. Watch our student safety on campus video as well as living in halls for UK and international student videos to understand what steps we have put in place in preparation for your return. Additionally, we are in the process of developing a COVID-19 screening programme, which is designed to identify outbreaks of infection at an early stage. The programme is due to launch in October and we will keep you updated with developments.

We would like to thank those of you living in the lockdown area for your contribution to the national and local effort to bring the spread of coronavirus under control.
