Collect free lateral flow home testing kits from the University

From the 17 May, COVID-19 restrictions relaxed even further, meaning we can now share a hug with a loved one and even go inside their homes for a cup of tea. But although this is another positive step towards getting back to normal, we need to be careful not to take two steps backward.

It’s now even more important than ever to get regularly tested. So we’re making it even easier for you.

From Monday 24 May, you can come and collect free lateral flow home testing kits from the University. These are available for all staff and students to pick up from one of our current testing sites:

  • The Adrian Building (open Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday 10am-2pm)
  • Oadby from Stamford Hall (open Monday 10am-2pm and Thursday 4pm-7pm)

All test results from lateral flow home testing kits, regardless of whether you got them from us, your local pharmacy or ordered them online, should be reported via the Government website here. When asked for the University name or postcode please enter BGAN and select ‘University of Leicester BGAN’ from the drop down menu.

Please follow up on any positive tests with a confirmatory PCR test and report this result to the University here as soon as you can.

Help us to keep our campus safe by testing regularly. Use a home kit or book an appointment at one of our test sites across campus where our centre staff will be happy to process your tests for you.

And remember, regardless of the result of your test, please continue to wear a face covering and observe social distancing rules.
