A week of exciting on-campus events celebrating the contributions of women worldwide.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated 8 March each year across the world. It’s a day that recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women everywhere, prompting a call to action to advance gender equality in every dimension of human life. We hope you can join us!

We’ll begin Monday 10:00am with Leicester Wall of Woman, a specially-created wall highlighting inspirational women here at the University. The day will continue with the week's official launch at 12:00pm on Centenary Square. Things will finish at 7:30pm in the O2 Academy with International Women’s Showcase – an amazing exhibition of the excellence of womanhood, featuring music, dance and poetry.

Throughout the week, there will be plenty of other events, including practical sessions, organised walks, illuminating talks and get-together lunches. This year's theme is #BalanceForBetter. It's a theme that recognises that gender diversity and equality will drive a better world and that we must continue to strive for this, not only on IWD but every day.

International Women’s Day Week will take place on 4-8 March.
