Join the conversation! Women of Influence 2017 panel discussions to be live streamed

Baroness Amos

Women of Influence 'The Art of Giving Back' is the seventh event in the University's award-winning Women of Influence series. 'The Art of Giving Back', taking place on Thursday 4 May, celebrates the outstanding work of our guests and invited speakers in helping the next generation to reach their ambitions.

The Alumni Team will be sharing stories from the event on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The keynote speech will be delivered by honorary graduate Baroness Valerie Amos whose varied career includes positions at the British Government and United Nations. Baroness Amos's speech will begin at 1.00pm and will be broadcast on Facebook Live as will the two panel discussions and Lord Michael Hastings’s speech which is also taking place at the event. Starting at 2.00pm the first panel, consisting of Katherine Kerswell, Janet Clegg and Vijay Sharma, will consider their personal inspirations for taking action and Lord Hastings will talk about using your passions to do good at 2.45pm. From 3.45pm, the second panel will discuss having the courage to take a stand and will feature contributions from Edwina Dunn, Antony Jenkins and a very special, and high profile, guest.

'Facebook Live’ will be used to broadcast the discussions. This will enable all users to watch the event unfold live on the Leicester Alumni Facebook page and those with Facebook accounts to comment and react as the conversation takes place.
