Industry Seminar tomorrow: 'Public Relations: The art of Perception'

School of Media, Communication & Sociology Industry Seminar to be hosted by Bob Leaf.

Bob Leaf is the former the former international CEO of PR firm Burson-Marsteller with 50 years experience in PR. During his tenure at Burson-Marsteller he was responsible for creating the international network of offices which made it into the world's largest PR firm and became one of the industry’s most knowledgeable counsellors on international public relations. Bob was the first executive to bring PR to the Soviet Union in the midst of the Cold War, and he signed a partnership agreement with the Chinese Government to establish the first official Chinese Government PR firm. In 1997, Bob established Robert S Leaf Consultants which specialised in advising corporations, government bodies and individuals on establishing a world-wide public relations strategy. He has received numerous awards including the University of Missouri’s highest Award, The Honor Medal for Distinguished Service to Journalism and has been included in Debrett’s 500, which named him one of the most inspiring and influential people in Britain.

On Wednesday 8 November at 3.00pm, Bob Leaf will be on campus to deliver the Media and Communication Industry Seminar. The seminar will take place in the Bankfield House Lecture Theatre.

The Industry Seminar series invites leading experts from the media industry to talk to our students. This is an opportunity for students to meet and interact with leading industry experts who will offer insight into their experience of working in journalism, media production, public relations and advertising. This is open to all students and staff and there is no need to book a place.
