Further information about industrial action impact

The latest round of industrial action by some University staff finished on Friday 13 March. We know that this industrial action caused a level of disruption and concern for our students. We would like to reassure you that the University is doing everything it can to mitigate the impact of the strike action on your studies.

We know that many students had their assessment disrupted during this time, and that some students are concerned that they may still be assessed on content which they missed due to industrial action. We would like to reassure you that students will not in any way be disadvantaged by missed content during the strike period. All academic schools have been asked to adjust all assessments to reflect the content that has been delivered, and to take the industrial action impact into account in their assessment and examination procedures. You do not need to submit any mitigating circumstances for this disruption.

Students will have been affected very differently by the industrial action, depending on your programme of study, module choice, or assessment pathway. Students are individually able to make a complaint to the University in relation to the disruption to your studies caused by the industrial action. Once received, each complaint will be considered for compensation, depending on the level of disruption caused. If you wish to make a complaint, please complete the form. Complaints relating to the period of industrial just ended should be submitted by Tuesday 31 March.
