History and Memory: 100 years of the University of Leicester
Professor Gordon Campbell FBA will deliver the lecture that will explore the involvement of the Literary and Philosophical Society in the establishment of the University, including how the initial suggestion came about in 1885 by the society President, Reverend Joseph Wood.
Professor Campbell is a Renaissance and seventeenth-century specialist with broad interests in cultural history, art, architecture, legal history and theology.
