Join us for our sustainability conference on Friday 1 June

The first annual sustainability conference will be held this year in the new George Davies Centre. The overarching theme this year will be the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This is the perfect opportunity to experience the latest sustainability research and projects taking place at Leicester as well as to network, collaborate and broaden insight into the challenges that are faced in todays’ changing world. For those presenting their work, there is an opportunity to win an exciting prize.

The exciting event will consist of students showcasing the excellent work they have achieved this year which includes themes such as social justice, energy reduction, environmental degradation and global health. As part of the programme, Iain Patton, CEO of The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges, will explore what Universities can do to propel the UN Global Goals further and eradicate poverty, inequality, and climate change.

Dr Andrew Reeves will be representing Leicester Masaya Link Group. His presentation, 'Lessons in Sustainability from Nicaragua' will share positive examples of international development projects in Masaya, Leicester’s twin city in Nicaragua. This aims to further our understanding of development projects and the ways in which we can collaborate on a grass roots level for maximum impact.

The conference day will also include an exciting debate for you to get involved with and a free lunch!

The event takes place on Friday 1 June 9am-3pm at George Davies Centre.

Make sure you don’t miss out and register here.
