Get set for a Countdown to Christmas
Christmas Market
On Thursday 1 and Friday 2 December, the Christmas market will be returning to campus. Run by the Students’ Union and our events team, last year’s event featured stalls and an ice rink and was so popular that we are running again, with some fantastic extras.
This year the ice rink will be free of charge, and we have some very special visitors joining us, Santa and his reindeer. There will again be stalls with some great stocking fillers, mulled wine and seasonal music. Please do come along and join in the festive fun and feel free to invite your friends and family.
Counting down to Christmas
This is part of the Students’ Union’s Christmas Countdown, which also includes wreath and card making, the annual toys on the table charity campaign, a festive movie marathon and a Carol Service in the Students’ Union at 5.30pm on Monday 5 December which everyone is welcome to join. More information is available on the Students’ Union website.
Christmas jumper day
We are also holding a charity Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday 7 December. Staff and students are invited to wear their Christmas jumper (or any Christmas items, Santa hats are welcome!), all we ask is that you donate £2 to Save the Children by simply texting TEAMUOL to 70050*.
You also have the chance to win a festive hamper, just share your best and worst Christmas jumper photos to Twitter and Instagram (both @LeicesterUnion). Save the Children will be displaying entries on a leader board so it would be great to have a good show from the University.
