It’s the start of term, and with it comes a flurry of activities and events. You may have seen or heard about our upcoming Festival of Careers – so what exactly is it?

In short, it’s a week of virtual events designed to boost your employability, offer you some unmissable opportunities and help you find the perfect role. The full line-up is packed, but beyond that, here are the top reasons the Festival of Careers is not to be missed!

Something for everyone

Whether you’re in your first year or you’re graduating next summer, there’s an event for you! There’s no limit on the amount you can attend. Looking for something a little more specialised? There are events for international students, postgraduate students and even those who don’t have any idea what the future holds.

Explore what’s out there

There will be a wide range of employers attending – some small, some large – working in a variety of sectors, from finance and legal to education, public sector, healthcare, IT and retail. The Festival gives you an unrivalled chance to expose yourself to the world of work – the companies and industries out there and what they really do – and the range of options open to you.

Hear from top employers

With the chance to meet over 60 employers as well as find out more about postgraduate study, placements, part-time work and more, it’s the place to be.

Hoping to land an internship or a year in industry? Our panel sessions will help you to discover the benefits and the impact that students have on businesses. Ask questions and get advice from students, alumni and industry experts to help you land the perfect role!

Thinking about applying for a graduate role? Explore opportunities with graduate employers from a range of public and private sectors. With sessions running throughout the week, you’ll find out more about the structure and application process for their programmes, what they’re looking for in graduate hires, as well as progression opportunities.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session and hear directly from recruiting managers about what you can do to prepare and impress.

Find out how we can help you

Along with a host of interesting and inspiring exhibitors, you can get practical advice and support from the careers service, whatever stage you’re at. Chat through your options, ideas and worries and get practical advice on steps you can take next, whether you’ve got a clear career goal in mind or are still unsure about what you want to do after University.

The Festival of Careers is running from Monday 25 – Friday 29 October, 9.00am – 5.00pm. Check out the full line-up and book your sessions at our Festival of Careers website.
