The Library's Literary Lunches are a great opportunity to learn more about Leicester's literary community and make new friends.

Term has started and the rush for course books is well and truly underway! Luckily, our University is situated in an area which is jam-packed with second-hand book shops, stocking all sorts of useful literature.

To introduce students to all of these great places, the University Library is offering a guided tour to all of them on Monday 16 October starting at 1.00pm outside the David Wilson Library. From there we’ll take everyone to nearby Clarendon Park to explore all the great bookshops and see if we can snag a bargain! Afterwards we’ll sit down for lunch at a café on Queens Road, where you can grab a delicious Panini.

This event is being run as part of the Read at Leicester initiative, which has seen us give out over 5000 copies of The Power by Naomi Alderman in order to encourage wider reading. Literary Lunch is a great chance to share your thoughts with other students who have read the book as well as picking up some books to start your semester with!

You can RSVP through Facebook or email. See you there!
