Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training
We are running a workshop for personal tutors and other student-facing staff, focusing on alcohol and drug use in students.
The workshop will cover:
- Types of drugs being used
- Where are people getting drugs from?
- Signs of drug use
- What does the law say?
- What is the harm reduction approach?
- What support is available to University students and how to refer.
The workshop will be faciltated by James Edmondston, Substance Misuse Officer, Leicestershire Police. He has a prevention role, working with organisations and young people to raise awareness of drug use. James is also part of our University-wide Alcohol Impact Steering Group, which is working to promote a safe and responsible drinking culture.
