Cooking on a Budget with Kwoklyn Wan
While a takeaway pizza might sound appealing it’s rarely the healthiest option. It’s understandable given that student priorities can make healthy-eating a challenge. Not everybody wants to make a nourishing meal after a long day at the library but the mental and physical benefits make it well worth the effort come exam time!
To inspire you to eat healthily, local cook – and brother of fashion designer, Gok – Kwoklyn Wan will be visiting campus. He’ll cook up fresh ingredients straight from the fruit and veg stall to show you how quick, easy and fun cooking on a budget can be. Best of all, you’ll have the chance to sample the food yourself!
Kwoklyn is originally from Leicester. He comes from a culinary background as his parents ran their own Chinese restaurant for many years. His grandfather opened the city’s first Chinese restaurant in 1962.
He will be in the main square on campus between 12.00-2pm on Monday 25 March.
