Celebrate Chinese New Year on 5 February
Chinese New Year celebrates the start of the lunar new year and is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. Join us for our celebrations on campus on Tuesday 5 February, between 12-5.30pm, on Centenary Square, as we welcome in the Year of the Pig. There will be stalls offering Chinese food and tea, arts and craft workshops, freebies and performances throughout the day.
Some of the activities you can get involved in are:
- Write your Well Wishes
- Find out your Zodiac Animal
- Shuttlecock Kicking
- Calligraphy, Paper Cutting and Lantern Making
As well as stilt walkers who will be on campus throughout the day, we will also be hosting performers:
- Lion Dance, 12.00pm and 5.00pm
- Traditional Chinese Musical Performance, 1.00pm
You don't need to book, just come and join us on Centenary Square for a day of food, culture and celebration! For more information, visit our webpage. Also, let us and your friends know you're coming on our Chinese New Year Facebook event page.
