Campus disruptions on Sunday due to Town and Gown 10k run

The route of the Town and Gown run.

Many students, staff and Leicester residents are amongst the 200+ runners taking part in the Town and Gown 10k run on Sunday to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. The run which will unite Leicesterites and students in their support for people who suffer from Muscular Dystrophy, will not affect the opening times of campus facilities but may have some impact on their accessibility.

Things to be aware of:

  • The race starts and finishes near to the Victoria Park entrance to campus which will make this entrance unusable for much of the day.
  • The route double-backs on itself outside the front of the Fielding Johnson Building, near to the Security Lodge which will make this area inaccessible.
  • The Charles Wilson Sports Hall will be used as a base for the runners and will be unusually busy.
  • No vehicles will be allowed onto campus between 8.00am and 1.00pm.
  • The main road through campus will be closed from the roundabout at the rear of the Fielding Johnson Building from 7.00pm on Saturday 4 March.
  • Campus should return to normal operations by 3.00pm.

Good luck to all competitors!
