Flooding in building and car park

As you may be aware, early on the morning of Thursday 19 November a significant water flood within the Bennett Building and car park was discovered. Everybody is safe and well.

Fire and Rescue services attended the incident but have now left. The immediate flooding has abated. Much of the building has not been damaged but we are now in the process of cleaning and drying out the areas impacted in order that a full survey of the extent of the damage can be carried out.

At this stage we anticipate the building will be out of use until at least mid-January to enable the building to dry out, for repair to be undertaken and for normal services to be re-established.

All teaching and practical sessions will be rescheduled for students and we will now work with the School to find temporary alternative workspaces as necessary.

We will continue to update you all as this situation develops.
