Get involved, have your say, elect!

It’s that time of the year again. Have you wanted to play a part in enacting change? Are you interested in representing your peers? Would you like to get involved?

The Students’ Union are holding elections to fill positions for their 2021/22 Executive Officers. This is your chance to have your say or nominate yourself for a position you feel strongly about.

Who are the Executive Officers?

The Students’ Union Executive Officers are a team of elected students who, with combined efforts, work together to represent your views to improve your experience whilst at University.

Mia Nembhard, current President of the Students’ Union had this to say:

"Being an Executive Officer isn't a one size fits all role, every day is different

It's about being transparent in your work, being prepared and willing to listen to what students want and most importantly, communicating those needs with a range of people to enact positive change.

My advice to anyone thinking of running is to bring your most authentic self to the role because nobody else is you."

There are 15 roles in total up for election. These include:

  • President
  • Sports Officer
  • Activities Officer
  • Education Officer
  • Wellbeing Officer
  • Liberation Officer
  • Part-time Officers
  • NUS National Conference Delegates

If you are interested in putting forward a nomination for one of the above roles, would like to know more information about the election process and time scales or want to read about a ‘Day in the Life’ of an Officer, visit the Student Union’s website.
