Expansion of access to the NHS Test and Trace lateral flow testing programme.

The University is expanding access to the NHS Test and Trace lateral flow testing programme to all staff and students up to and including 22 December.

Where and what time?
Up to and including 9 December, tests are available from the Charles Wilson Sports Centre and Stamford Hall (Oadby Village) from 9.00-18.00.

From 10 December, the testing will be operating most mornings (and for a couple of afternoons) from the Charles Wilson Sports Hall only. You can find the booking form and site opening hours online. You will be able to book appointments for 10 – 22 December from the evening of Wednesday 9 December. It is recommended that you book in advance, but drop-ins are also welcome.

How does it work?
The test is simple and easy to take, and your results are sent to you by text and/or email within three hours. You’ll need to bring a mobile phone or other device with you to complete the online registration. You should also bring your student identity cards.

Although testing is voluntary, it is recommended that you take two lateral flow tests three to four days apart and that you travel as soon as you can after a second negative test. Even after you receive your negative results, continue to stay vigilant for COVID symptoms and follow Government guidance if you start to develop them.

If you test positive for COVID, you should isolate immediately and request a home PCR test, through the NHS COVID-19 app, to confirm your positive test. You will need to report any positive tests and incidences of self-isolation to the University as soon as possible using the student reporting form, accessed through the COVID-19 information hub, so that support can be provided.
