Nominations for this year’s staff awards, The Citizens’ Awards are now open.

Has one of our staff members inspired you to go the extra mile? Is there a team that’s gone above and beyond to support you through COVID? Has someone led the way in championing inclusivity across the university? If a staff member or team springs to mind, then now is your chance to help get them the recognition they deserve.

Nominations for this year’s staff awards, The Citizens’ Awards are now open. The Awards, previously referred to as the ‘Discovering Excellence’ staff awards, were founded to shine a light on staff who have gone the extra mile for the university and our students.

The 14 awards categories span across research, student experience and teaching, and professional services. And given the challenges that 2020 has presented this year, we’ve introduced several new award categories: COVID Related Researcher, Ignite Innovator, University Critical Worker and Above and Beyond During COVID.

The 15th category is the President and Vice-Chancellor’s Award. This is a special recognition awarded to an individual who, throughout the past year, has provided sustained, outstanding service towards the university’s future. All the awards categories and criteria for entry can be found here.

Both staff and students can nominate an individual or a team by completing the nomination form before 5.00pm on Friday 22 January 2021. The 2021 winners will be announced during a virtual celebration ceremony in May 2021.
