Alternative sport afternoon for students

On Wednesday 15 February, the Danielle Brown Sports Centre will host a number of free alternative sporting activities for all students to try their hand at.

Running from 3-6pm, the afternoon will give participants the opportunity to take part in Bubble Football, UV Badminton and Wheelchair basketball for free. A buffet, tea and coffee will be provided and children are welcome to attend too.

These activities are part of the University’s programme to encourage mature students to engage in all aspects of University life. Compared to non-mature students, far fewer mature students utilise the wide range of sports and recreation facilities and activities provided by the University and the Students’ Union.

Engaging in sports and physical activity can help to achieve mental as well as physical health objectives, including addressing depression and stress-related disorders.
