Seminars offering information and support resources.

Looking after your wellbeing whilst at university can be imperative to ensuring you have the best experience you can during your years of study. To offer help, guidance and support, the wellbeing team will be holding a series of practical ‘self-help’ solutions for those experiencing mild to moderate mental distress. The sessions are:

  1. Exploring the impact of thoughts: Wednesday 5th May 2021, 3.00pm
  2. Exploring the impact of behaviours: Wednesday 12th May 2021, 3.30pm
  3. Exploring the impact of stress and worry: Wednesday 19th May 2021, 3.30pm
  4. Exploring the impact of difficult emotions: Wednesday 26th May 2021, 3.30pm
  5. Exploring and maintaining wellbeing: Wednesday 2nd June 2021, 3.30pm
  6. Exploring Sleep: Wednesday 9th June 2021, 3.30pm

These sessions will cover several Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools (CBT) in brief detail with handouts available with more guidance and details included. As we understand that some sessions will be of more interest to you than others, you are welcome to attend all 6 seminars or ‘drop in and out’ and attend whichever you think will be most helpful to you.

During each session, there will be the opportunity to have your general questions answered. However, if you feel the need to explore your difficulties in more detail, please self-refer to the wellbeing service and request an assessment.

These sessions will be recorded to use as resources going forward, so if you miss a session you can view them at a later date.

*Please note: International Students: Student safety and wellbeing is our absolute priority, due to insurance cover and how the delivery of ‘Therapeutic Interventions’ differs from country to country, we are unable to offer these 'Wellness Seminars', as live sessions if you are currently residing outside of the UK. Once the sessions have been recorded they will be available as a resource to access through our social media platforms.

*Confidentiality: If we have immediate concerns for your safety, we may contact the appropriate services and highlight these, we will not be able to respond to you directly
