200 new study spaces in the library

Over the summer we have been working hard to improve the library and give you the extra study space you have asked for.

Last year we introduced the brand new digital reading room, which aimed to provide a new kind of flexible and interactive study space in the library.

You have told us that you need more study space, so following some staff moves into the Fielding Johnson Building we have been able to free up more library space for both silent and collaborative study.

There is now a large silent reading room on the ground floor of the library, go through the entry turnstiles and head to the back of the building to find it. We are also putting the finishing touches to collaborative study spaces on the second and third floors.

Not only are these spaces brand new and fitted with power points and the latest furniture, all areas have WiFi throughout. Overall we have increased the number of study spaces available in the library by 200 to  1,840.

We hope you enjoy using the new study spaces. You are welcome to tell us what you think of them by speaking to a member of library staff, or emailing us at library@le.ac.uk.
