Research Support

The Research Support Office provides expert guidance and support to academics who are undertaking public sector, EU and charity funded research activity across all disciplines at the University. Click here to view a summary of the support available for staff.

Health and Safety

The University has a duty of care under civil law to everybody on University sites. The University also has a legal duty to comply with the Health And Safety At Work Act and to safeguard the health and safety of its employees and those exposed to their activities. Ultimately health and safety depends on the acts and omissions of individuals. All staff in the university have a role to play.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Networks

The University has a number of well-established and active Staff Equality fora who champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion events, activities and policy. Trade Unions

The University recognises three Trade Unions which you may wish to join.  In your first two weeks of employment you may opt-out of correspondence with Trade Unions by completing the opt-out form and returning this to the Division of Human Resources.

If you have been sponsored to work at the University because you originate from outside the EEA, you are reminded that you must report any changes in your circumstances (such as changes of address and contact phone numbers) to the University. The University is also obliged to check your documentation annually and you may bring your documents to HR Reception for this purpose.
