Former Vice-Chancellor revisits Leicester

During his visit on Monday 9 June 2014, he was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Robert Burgess, and Mrs Jo Wood, Assistant Registrar.

Dr Edwards then toured several departments:

  • The Department of Engineering with Professor Mike Warrington, Deputy Head of the Department of Engineering
  • History of Art and Film with Professor James Chapman, Head of the Department of the History of Art and Film
  • School of History with Professor Jo Story, Professor of Early Medieval History, and Dr Mark Hollingsworth, School Manager, School of History

This was followed by lunch with a number of current and former staff:

  • Professor Sir Robert Burgess, Vice-Chancellor
  • Mr Colin Hide, Director of Sport
  • Professor Peter Jackson, Professor of Economics and Strategy
  • Mr Keith Julian, Former Registrar and Secretary
  • Professor Bambos Kyriacou, Professor of Behavioural Genetics
  • Mrs Jo Wood, Assistant Registrar

Dr Edwards was then given a tour of the School of Management with Professor Simon Lilley, Head of the School of Management; then of the Danielle Brown Sports Centre and the Roger Bettles Sports Centre with Mr Colin Hide, Director of Sport.

The itinerary finished with a meeting between Professor Burgess and Dr Edwards.
