Richard III film shortlisted at Royal Television Society awards

Carl Vivian

The work of our Creative Team has been celebrated at a television awards ceremony.

At the Royal Television Society Midlands awards, Carl Vivian’s film ‘Richard III – The DNA Analysis and Conclusion’ was nominated for the Best Production Craft Skills award.

The work of the University also featured in the Best News Programme category where BBC East Midlands won the award for their coverage of the reinterment of Richard III.

Carl said: "I’m very proud of this film and the way we managed to tell a complicated story in a simple and engaging way, it just shows what’s possible when researchers work closely with the University Communication Team to tell the story of their work."

Head of the Creative Team Jon Shears said: “The nomination itself in this category, alongside programmes from the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, is a fabulous recognition from a prestigious organisation of Carl’s excellent camera skills in his coverage of the Richard III story.”
