Percy Gee redevelopment

We are going to continue the expansion of our award winning Percy Gee Building.

As part of our commitment to improving the student experience, we are extending and enhancing the eastern wing of the Percy Gee Building, home to our Students’ Union, as part of our continued improvement of the student experience.

We are committed to improving and increasing the facilities already on offer at the Percy Gee Building. To achieve this, our proposals include plans to:

  • Deliver a brand new spacious food court
  • Provide alternative facilities and high quality multi-use spaces.
  • Establish a direct link between the vibrant atria space already within Percy Gee and the newly completed Fielding Johnson Square.

While Queen’s Hall will not be retained in its current form, a more useful multi-purpose space with the same floor space will be included in the renovations, alongside the existing space for the Scholar bar for music and performance.

Project timescales

At the moment the project will be starting at the beginning of March, and we will share more firm dates when we have them confirmed. We have been working with the Students' Union to ensure that student groups are catered for and will ensure that no noisy work will take place around exam periods.
