Come and enjoy our fantastic new menu! chi is offering customers £1 off any street food plate and a free hot drink with any 5 or 8 piece breakfast purchased!*

Formerly known as The Coffee Shop, chi is situated on the ground floor of the Charles Wilson Building and offers a wide range of authentic Eastern street food served to you with paratha bread and shrimp crackers, and well as a traditional English breakfast. There is a selection of grab and go snacks including onion bhajis, spring rolls and samosas, or why not choose from one of our wraps or burgers created to your taste. Our menus are available at varying times throughout the day.

To celebrate the opening of this new outlet, chi would like to invite all staff and students to take advantage of our new evening opening times or to join us for breakfast one morning. With £1 off street food plates (normally £4.95) and a free drink with every 5 or 8 piece breakfast (£2.95 and £3.95), it’s too good to miss.

chi is open 8am – 3pm and 5pm – 7.30pm, Monday – Friday.

USS Consultation Starts

Information relating to the proposed changes to Universities Superannuation Scheme (“USS”) has been sent to active members of USS or those members of staff who are eligible to join USS. This forms part of the consultation exercise on the proposed changes which begins on 20th October and runs until 22nd December 2010. The information lets staff know how they can respond to the consultation using the on-line system established by USS.

The latest City Campus outlet from Residential and Commercial Services offering a fabulous fusion of tastes!

The retail outlet formerly known as the Coffee Shop, Charles Wilson Building has just finished having a major refurbishment and been transformed into ‘chi’.  


A Chinese word meaning ‘eat’, chi is a modern, vibrant café style restaurant offering a highly creative internationally themed menu. Visitors to chi can enjoy something from the Asian style street food counter serving a daily choice of freshly prepared hot dishes, or if you prefer something more traditional you can choose a selection from the excellent value all day breakfast menu.

There are also plenty of traditional ‘grab and go’ snacks which include a range of hot items such as samosas, Onion bhajis and Spicy wraps.

chi is open weekdays between 8am to 3pm.
