Plans to invest in research development support are underway.

We recently reported that the Research Support and Enterprise and Business Development Offices have been merged to form a new Division of Research and Enterprise to support the University’s ambitious research objectives. The new Division will also include some of the activities carried out at present by the Leicester Learning Institute.

This represents a significant investment to help deliver the University’s research and enterprise strategies and to increase income from these activities to the University.

With the appointment of Caroline Quest as Head of Division, plans to invest in the support offered to academics through the new Division are underway with 12 new research development and associated posts agreed.

Research development posts will support initiatives to improve the value and success rates of research applications, and have been advertised both internally and externally. Existing structures and processes are also being reviewed.

A further announcement will follow in November with details of new staff members, the new organisational structure and a link to the revised internal website.
