The Rutland Dinosaur: 50 Years On

The Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society Geology Group bring you their annual Saturday Seminar.

On the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the Rutland Dinosaur, there will be a series of talks on the discovery, Middle Jurassic geology and fossils and Sauropod dinosaurs.

We welcome a fascinating variety of speakers who include:

  • John Martin and Dr Mark Evans on the History of the Rutland Dinosaur
  • Professor Paul Upchurch on Sauropod palaeobiology and feeding mechanics
  • Professor John Hudson on Mid-Jurassic lagoons
  • Elsa Pancirola on Mid-Jurassic Fauna from the Isle of Skye
  • Femka Holwerda on the place of Celiosaurus among the sauropods

The meeting will be held on Saturday 10 March Bennett Building, Lecture Theatre 1.
