Staff take the Leicester Marathon relay challenge

The University has entered at least 12 teams to this year's Cummins relay challenge as part of the Leicester Marathon.

The challenge will see teams of four take on the half/full Leicester marathon route as they look to complete the relay in the quickest time. Last year saw the Vice-Chancellor's team very close to taking home the trophy but unfortunately they were just a couple of minutes off the pace.

The Cummins Relay Challenge is a fantastic chance for departments, services and colleagues to come together and enjoy some physical activity in a social environment and we do look forward to seeing members of the University of Leicester come together to get involved. They aren’t just running, they are also raising money for LOROS, so even with our 12 teams entered we have managed to raise £1,200 before even setting foot on the course.

If you want to support the University of Leicester staff and their teams then please do come along to Victoria Park and watch them cross the finish line. If you just wanted to donate to the charity then please do so by visiting the Just Giving page.

We look forward to seeing you there and hope to recreate this fantastic photo from last year’s event.
