Taking place at the exclusive Kensington Roof Gardens, ‘Women of Influence: The Act of Giving Back’ celebrates women who are changing the world.

Launched in 2010, Women of Influence is an award-winning event series that celebrates women who are making an impact on the world through their success and high aspirations. On Thursday 4 May, the University will be hosting ‘Women of Influence: The Act of Giving Back’ at the exclusive Kensington Roof Gardens in London and staff are welcome to join the growing network.

The event is designed to generate discussion about equal opportunities for women and guests will hear from speakers including The Right Honourable Baroness Valerie Amos CH. Baroness Amos’s previous positions include Chief Executive of the Equal Opportunities Commission, British High Commissioner to Australia and Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations. In 2006, Baroness Amos was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Leicester and we are proud to count her among our honorary alumni.

The University is a UN Women HeForShe 10x10x10 Impact Champion and the Women of Influence series is part of our commitment to creating a cultural transformation around gender. Tickets for the event cost £45 and sales from the event will support the We Charity and the University’s Women of Influence Scholarship Fund.
