A new structure for the University’s senior management team will come into effect on Monday 3 February.

The structure has been put in place to respond to the external opportunities and challenges that face the University.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Nishan Canagarajah said: “I am keen to create a culture of empowerment where we reduce bureaucracy, provide an inclusive environment for people to succeed and establish effective partnership working between the academic community and professional service teams.

“To do this we need a structure that provides greater agility, improves service delivery and shares the leadership responsibility.”

There will be a number of operational impacts as a result of the changes, such as committee chairs and lead officers for external organisations, which will be shared in the coming weeks.

Nishan added: “I have asked Martyn Riddleston, Kerry Law and Geoff Green to work closely together to ensure we deliver real change, working in partnership with our academic community.

“I would like to thank my colleagues for their support.”
