Sending and receiving personal and private mail at the University

As we head towards the festive season, we would just like to take the opportunity to remind you of some of our rules and guidelines regarding personal mail at the University.

While we recognise that some people may choose to use the University’s external mail system to send out their private mail or parcels, they should all have postage already stamped and paid for. Any unstamped mail identified as being 'private' will be removed and retained prior to disposal.

Equally, many people have used their University address to have parcels delivered. Although the Post Room does endeavor to deliver private mail to the correct departments, deliveries are made to departmental mail boxes and not the named individual. The Post Room cannot be liable for any loss or damage to private parcels and therefore we strongly advise you to have parcels delivered to your home address.

However, if you are ordering through Amazon, the Students' Union has secure Amazon Mail Boxes on the lower level of Percy Gee building. These are suitable for personal Amazon deliveries.

More information on our post service is available on the Estates webpages.
