Hear from experts in cancer, imaging and diagnostics and talk to colleagues about cross-disciplinary funding opportunities at this event on Wednesday 26 October 2016.

Cross-disciplinary research and collaborations can accelerate and lead to breakthroughs in research projects. Join us for a sandpit event on Wednesday 26 October 2016 from 1:00 - 4:35pm, Charles Wilson Building, to explore some of the key issues in life sciences and healthcare with a view to developing, and potentially funding cross-disciplinary project ideas.

Experts in the themes of cancer, imaging and diagnostics will deliver talks exploring key issues and scenarios in life sciences and health care. Then, technologists will address ways to find solutions for the project ideas suggested.

Organised by the Research and Enterprise Division and funded by the STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council) as part of its Impact Acceleration Account, the event is highly relevant to academics from the Colleges of Science and Engineering, and of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology.

Three project ideas from this sandpit event may be eligible for funding of up to £10,000 (each). Projects are expected to be of six months’ duration and application forms must be submitted by Wednesday 23 November 2016. Panel presentations will be held on Monday 5 December 2016.
