Principal Investigators working on research projects funded by certain organisations are required to submit data.

We would like to remind Principal Investigators (PIs) working on projects funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), as well as other major medical charities, that you are required to report on the outcomes and impacts of your research by 14 March. Submissions can be made via Researchfish.

Any individual who is a PI on an active grant or a grant which ended within the last five years is required to make an annual return to the funder. Any Co-Investigators (COIs) can contribute to the submission but the responsibility rests with the PI. Individuals should have already been notified of this by their funder.

Information can be uploaded at any point but you are strongly advised to begin well before 4pm on 14 March. You will need to enter a response for each award from the relevant Funding Organisations.

It is extremely important that you submit a return as sanctions for non-compliance are in place if no return is made. Sanctions can include the withdrawal of eligibility to make new funding applications and freezing of existing grant funds. RCUK has stated that compliance levels may inform the consideration of future institutional applications.

A detailed guide is available online.
